Long Isle High Schoolhouse for the Arts

The Long Island Loftier Schoolhouse for the Arts (LISHA) Summer Arts University--in partnership with Hofstra University's Youth and Enrichment Programs--is designed for students going into grades 6-12 who bask the creative worlds of performance, music, fine arts, and tech including digital design and special effects, drama and musical theater, instrumental and vocal music.

The Long Island High Schoolhouse for the Arts is located in Syosset, NY. The LIHSA campus sits on iv acres of state and features 40,000 square feet of space in three country-of-the-fine art facilities. LIHSA is a collaborative surroundings where students can create and hone their arts and crafts in Visual Arts, Music, Film Making, and Musical Theatre.

The Roasalind Joel Solarium for Music and Theatre houses the Seymour Weiner Theatre. The theatre is a 350-seat venue that hosts 2 black box theatres, a digital recording studio, music classrooms and rehearsal rooms, teaching spaces, and a workshop area dedicated to scenery, properties and costume creation. The other two buildings on campus feature multi-media and dance/fine arts studios.

The digital studio media lab is a fully equipped music product facility that has Mac workstations with music theory, product and ear training software. It has the capabilities to record a string quartet, mix a picture soundtrack, or engineer a recording for someone in a comfy environment.

Every pupil will conceive, produce, direct, and edit a brusk film project using digital film making technology. In this 2-week moving picture making intensive, yous will learn how to bring your vision to life, while experiencing the artistic and collaborative process of flick making!

Scenic Design and Special Furnishings I: Join us for a hands-on experience in diverse aspects of technical theatre. Students will work behind the scenes to support the musical theatre productions on campus including: prop making, set edifice, costumes, stage lighting and sound pattern. Students will acquire virtually a diverseness of careers inside the area of technical theatre. Scenic Design and Special Furnishings II (grades 9-12): Bring together u.s.a. for a hands-on experience in various aspects of technical theatre. Students will work behind the scenes to support the musical theatre productions on campus including prop making, set building, costumes, stage lighting and sound blueprint. They will also serve as the stage crew, lighting technicians, and sound operators for the productions on campus.

Sing-Songwriter Intensive

In this i week intensive program, educatee artists will write and digitally produce an original song, while exploring a diversity of songwriting styles and collaborating with other talented musicians!

High School Rock Band

High School Rock Ring

This is your opportunity to explore the entire process of staging a full rock evidence. You lot volition work with other musicians and learn how to select cloth, adjust, rehearse, and perform on phase. Students can bring their own instruments, or utilize one of the ones on campus.
